Research

Our questions span different levels of ecological organisation, from the behaviour and traits of individuals to the structure and function of landscapes and ecosystems, and we are equally excited about basic and applied research. A lot of our work involves also collaborations with other groups, in the UK and abroad (Switzerland, France, Sweden, Spain, Canada, USA, Brasil).

Our scientific goal is to increase our understanding about the biological mechanisms and processes that underlie the patterns we see in natural populations and communities. Using this knowledge we hope to contribute also to more effective management and conservation policy.
